Fiesta Arts Fair
The Fiesta Arts Fair is scheduled from April 20 to 21, 2019, and is a part of the San Antonio Fiesta Festival. This art festival is held near the San Antonio River Walk on the Southwest School of Art’s campus. The event features over 100 artists from all over the country, displaying all types of art including media, metal, ceramics, glass, painting, photography, textures, and jewelry.
The family-friendly art fair has something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Taste delicious food and drinks while listening to live music of all genres. Children will also enjoy the art and painting classes located within the festival.
Viva Botanica
Also a part of the San Antonio Fiesta Festival, the San Antonio Botanical Garden hosts Viva Botanica on April 20, 2019. This is the perfect spring event for the entire family with fun activities available for adults and children of all ages. You can purchase live plants and flowers, learn about the native plants of San Antonio, or take a gardening class. You can also come to view the beauty of the Botanical Garden.
Battle of Flowers Parade
The Battle of Flowers Parade is scheduled for April 26, 2019, and is often referred to as the founding event of the Fiesta San Antonio. Historically, the parade was a celebration of the Alamo and victory of San Jacinto beginning in 1891. The parade has run year after year since 1891, with the exception of the World War I and World War II.
Over the years, the parade has evolved to become a celebration of the diverse culture that makes up the city of San Antonio. Make sure you get your parade tickets early as this is one of the most popular spring festivals.
Festival De Animales
The Festival De Animales at the San Antonio Zoo is from April 27 to 28, 2019. This year’s theme will focus on Latin American culture with food and drinks to complement it. The animals of South and Central America will be the main focus of the weekend. Zoo members can attend Festival De Animales for free. Non-members will need to purchase tickets in advance.
Annual Floating Feastival
The annual Floating Feastival takes place on the famous San Antonio River Walk from May 7 to 8, 2019. This is an annual fundraising event that helps to raise money for the San Antonio arts-education initiative. Cruise down the River Walk and enjoy a delicious meal from local restaurants while watching local live entertainment. A Bon Voyage reception with progressive dining and an after-cruise coffee reception are included with the cost of your ticket. Each floating barge holds up to 16 guests.
